Known for its gorgeous beaches and scenic panoramas, Merimbula is a stunning getaway any time of year. But on the March long weekend, the foreshore comes alive with a smorgasbord of local produce and we can guarantee it’s best served with a side of sunshine and crystal clear beaches.

Bring your picnic blanket and head to Merimbula’s Fishpen where you’ll find the foreshore lined with local chefs, cooks, foodies and producers ready to share some of their delicious goods. The best bit? No serve of food is over $10 so you can sample as much tasty food as your heart (and wallet) desires.

Each year local businesses release their specialised menu on the Eat Merimbula Facebook page. Check it out closer to the date to ensure you’re stopping at all the tantalising storefronts. One stall you can’t miss is the local legends at Wild Rye Baking Co who whip up all sorts of baked goods for the festival. Wash it down with a beer from Longstocking Brewery, created specially for the occasion. While Sunday is the main event, local businesses host their own bespoke lunches and dinners. Our personal favourite is the Three Chefs Dinner at Merimbula Wharf Restaurant. For $175pp, you can expect a whopping eight courses, all with a wine pairing. But be quick, this event sells out every year.
