Not only can you get knee deep in rollicking Irish music, delicious food and free entertainment for the kids, but you’ll fall in love with the town’s outback charm and easy-going nature.
For those traveling from Sydney, prepare for a six hour journey that takes you through the magnificent Blue Mountains and some of the country's most spectacular wine and cattle country, before arriving at this welcoming farming community of 500 people.
For those looking for a quicker option, the closest train station and airport is just an hour away at Parkes, NSW, where you can hire a car to complete your journey. The roads are sealed the entire way so a 2WD will do you just fine.
The festival itself is family friendly and the perfect getaway with your mates, or an entertaining stop-over for grey nomads. Ticket holders will be given camping access on-site, while last minute visitors will find plenty of camping room off-site near the Tullamore Bowling Club. Alternative accommodation options are very limited, so be sure to bring your campervan, tent or swag for a rollicking good time, camping style.
Both Good Friday and Easter Saturday evening feature live Irish music concerts performed by some of the most well-known Irish artists, while the rest of the weekend is jam packed with entertainment including an art exhibition, market stalls, shearing demonstrations and amusement rides for the kids.
And when it comes to your fit, go big, go green, go fun. A ‘westing of the green’ competition on the Saturday is your chance to shine in a breezy green kilt, hat, feathers or really release your inner leprechaun with a waistcoat and top hat. Don’t forget to bring a jacket or jumper, food and drinks, boots, hats, sunscreen and a little Irish jig in your step.
So, what are you waiting for? Follow that celtic beat all the way to the centre of NSW where you’ll find the Guinness is flowing, the laughter is loud and the dancing doesn’t stop!
